The stalker, who police detained at the scene, is allegedly named David. He was arrested by New York law enforcement for repeatedly attempting to break into the home of 34-year-old pop star Taylor Swift.
A neighbour told The New York Post that the man was regularly seen outside the building. He would sit on the doorstep and tell people he was there to see Swift. He also said he wanted to give the singer flowers.
He was photographed peering into the lobby of Swift’s home, after which he was detained, probably ticketed and released. On Monday, history repeated itself and police had to arrest the offender. Meanwhile, Taylor herself was last seen in New York City on Thursday when she went to Electric Lady Studios recording studio.
Swift’s Manhattan home has become a traditional meeting place for her most ardent fans, who often camp out overnight in the hope of catching a glimpse of their idol. But her megastar status has also attracted many dubious “fans of creativity”.
In 2021, Swift spoke in an interview with Elle about her fear of stalkers and creepy fans.
