Researchers from Tel Aviv University in Israel discussed the challenges faced by artificial intelligence developers creating tools to communicate with animals.
With the continuous improvement of human speech processing algorithms, perhaps one day there will be AI models for communicating with our lesser brothers. But for this to happen, artificial intelligence must use signals from the animals themselves, and in an appropriate behavioural context.
In addition, the signals must elicit a measurable response from the animals, as they do when communicating with their fellow animals, not with a computer.
